Founder and the face of First Forays, Lalitha Ravindran leads the team from the front. She blends sharp industry insights with a deep personal touch, and has guided several debut and seasoned writers to their dreams – be it securing book deals, film adaptations, or fostering a vibrant literary community through retreats and collaborations worldwide.
In her years since founding First Forays, she has emerged as a trusted literary advocate, sought after for her keen author-centric approach, ever-expanding network and unwavering dedication. For her authors, she’s more than just an agent – she’s a mentor, friend, and lifelong cheerleader.
Mrinal Rajaram
Mrinal Rajaram works as an agent for First Forays. In addition to the assessment of proposals/sample pages, he undertakes the full-fledged editing of fiction and nonfiction manuscripts, as and when the need presents itself.
A writer and editor from Chennai, he has been published in Sahitya Akademi’s Indian Literature, The Louisville Review, The Bombay Review, The Times of India, The Economic Times, The New Indian Express, and Firstpost, among other publications.

Mahima Mukherjee
Mahima Mukherjee has been associated with First Forays since 2022, as an editor and agent. She has worked on several manuscripts developmentally during this period, as well as been engaged in the reviewing and furthering of book proposals.
In the past, she has been published in online magazines like the Eunoia Review and several poetry anthologies. As a student of IIT Delhi, she has also led the pan-IIT media body, IIT Tech Ambit, and won several literary and journalism podiums at a collegiate and national level. She was also shortlisted for a Feather Grant to publish her own book by gradCapital, an initiative backing student ventures.
Between covalent bonds and oxford commas, Mahima likes to travel and explore cuisines and art.
